In this session, attendees will learn the basics of project management including project initiation, planning, monitoring, execution, control, and closeout. We will touch on how projects are different from operations, key roles and responsibilities for working with a project team, how to define the scope, schedule, and resource needs for a project, as well as communication and leadership techniques. We will explore techniques for managing change, risks, and issues as ways to increase the likelihood of project success. As an outcome, participants will have tools and techniques that will allow them to more effectively lead as well as participate in project efforts.
