Print Resource Sharing Advisory Committee

PURPOSE

The Resource Sharing Advisory Committee monitors and evaluates the resource sharing activities of the South Central Regional Library Council. The Committee also seeks to generate creative initiatives and regularly investigates global issues, innovations and trends that have implications for resource sharing.  It acts upon these matters as appropriate by providing input to the Executive Director and to the Board; planning educational and networking opportunities; suggesting and planning Council projects; and identifying resources that are available for sharing.

 

ROLE

  • Recommend policies to the Board of Trustees for regional resource sharing.
  • Investigate global issues, innovations and trends in resource sharing. 
  • Provide leadership to the membership for best practices and innovation.
  • Review short- and long-term goals for regional resource sharing. 
  • Plan educational and networking opportunities.
  • Establish subcommittees or task forces as necessary, e.g. BARC review.
  • Identify resources that are available for sharing.

 

GOALS 2010

  1. Revise the Regional Resource Sharing handbook.
  2. Devise a plan to update the Regional Union List of Serials.
  3. Review the Bibliographic and Referral Center (BARC) Program
  4. Investigate national and international resource sharing and delivery initiatives.
