PURPOSE
The Resource Sharing Advisory Committee monitors and evaluates the resource sharing activities of the South Central Regional Library Council.
ROLE
- Recommend policies to the Board of Trustees for regional resource sharing.
- Investigate global issues, innovations and trends in resource sharing.
- Provide leadership to the membership for best practices and innovation.
- Review short- and long-term goals for regional resource sharing.
- Plan educational and networking opportunities.
- Establish subcommittees or task forces as necessary, e.g. BARC review.
- Identify resources that are available for sharing.
GOALS 2009
- Revise the Regional Resource Sharing handbook, transforming it into a wiki
- Evaluate the Bibliographic and Referral Center (BARC) Program
- Investigate the annual resource sharing subsidy distribution
- Support the Information Delivery Services (IDS) project
- Investigate national and international resource sharing and delivery initiatives
